How much should you be spending on rent? 🏠 A common guideline is to keep your housing costs below 30% of your gross income. It isn’t a hard rule, but it’s a simple benchmark that leaves room for investing, building an emergency fund, and covering your other expenses. For this video, I used 28.5% of gross income as a slightly more conservative target. Everyone’s situation is different, especially in higher-cost cities, but if you can stay around this range, you’ll generally have more flexibility to build wealth over time. Credit to @loansbymichael (insta) for the original video idea. I adapted it for a Canadian audience and adjusted the numbers to fit this guideline. #PersonalFinance #Canada #CanadianFinance #MoneyTips
