Canada is all over the place with it's metric adoption Canada. It sounds like you should have been here for our last meeting. Sorry. We didn't want to interrupt. Okay, so is it metric or imperial? Metric and imperial. I see. Okay, let's start with temperature. Celsius. Good. Sometimes. Well, ovens are Fahrenheit. Distance? Distance is kilometres. People are feet. I'm 10 kilometres away. I'm six feet tall. People are pounds. Deli meat is grams. And butter? Sold in 454 G blocks. That's a pound. Yes. Okay, so maybe the rule is metric outdoors, imperial indoors. Hot tubs are Fahrenheit. They're outdoors. Then how do you know which? We just know. How did this happen? Well, we converted to metric in the 70s. I mean, you clearly didn't, though. We started and then we stopped in 1985. They said they were converting, too. We considered it. It seemed rude to finish without them. Has the mix ever caused problems? One of our planes ran out of fuel in the air? Yeah, our first fully metric aircraft in 1983. The ground crew fueled it in pounds instead of kilograms. So it took off with... less than half the fuel it needed. It glided to an abandoned airbase from 41,000 feet. Aviation is feet. Was anyone hurt? Nope. Everyone was fine. We call it the Gimli Glider. For the town where it landed. So after all this, are you ever gonna pick a system? Which one? Both. That's not picking.
