Why it worked

The image effectively uses clear labels and a visually appealing plant cutting to educate viewers on a specific propagation technique. This educational value, combined with the popularity of Monstera plants, likely contributed to its performance.

Summary

This image illustrates how to properly take a top cutting from a Monstera plant for propagation. It labels key parts of the plant, such as the active growth point, mature leaves, nodes, and aerial roots, and provides instructions on where to cut below the node to protect it from rot.

Stop making this mistake when propagating your Monstera! ✂️🌿 If you want fast roots and zero rot, understanding your cutting anatomy is everything. Here’s what makes a flawless Monstera deliciosa top cutting: ✨ Active Growth Point: Keeps the plant pushing out new leaves while it roots. 🌱 Nodes & Aerial Roots: The exact spots where new root systems will shoot out. ✂️ Stem Buffer: Always cut ½ to 1 inch BELOW the node. Giving yourself a stem buffer protects the node from rot! What’s your go-to propagation medium—water, sphagnum moss, or perlite?
