I get these plans going and my wife gives me the look, it feels like I'm fighting this inner animal when we have to say no and make a wise choice for everyone. I am so proud of my son who hiked miles and miles that day in the heat and braved some really cold water. If you are in the area definitely go see this beautiful snake river canyon but also make sure to plan a realistic amount of stops for the day and bring lots of water! Let me just tell you something We had huge plans, my gosh Yikes it's been quite the day This is our fourth stop those of you that are parents, you'll know what I'm talking about, but there comes a point where you hit a limit Even though you have these lofty goals, these amazing plans for the day, sometimes it's just just not possible, you know? Sometimes it's just a little too much, to send it Sometimes it's just a little too much, to send it And that's just a reality right now we were planning on hiking down to a place called Mermaid Cove And I still might try to get down there see what happens, but, you know, the, the five-year-old is beat the wife is pretty beat It doesn't help when it's 98 degrees, probably getting closer to 100, 101 right now, now that it's 4 o'clock My son: "Waterfall!" Showing signs of life... to my surprise, we are rallying So, we'll see if this is gnarly or not it looks like we've never been here So, it looks like based on the maps, it's a .2 mile hike Hopefully, we're pleasantly surprised I just can't get over this canyon, guys, like the canyon walls are so pretty
