Replying to @Tara As a non-Indigenous teacher, I know I’m not an expert in Aboriginal education and I would never claim to be. I’m always learning and reflecting on my own practice. The 8 Ways of Learning framework, developed by Aboriginal educators (including Tyson Yunkaporta and colleagues), has been a valuable tool in helping me think more intentionally about the pedagogies I bring into my classroom. This video is simply sharing one way I’ve used the framework as a learning map and reflection tool with my Year 6 class. If you’re interested in learning more, I’d really encourage you to explore the original 8 Ways resources and hear directly from the educators who developed the framework. They explain the pedagogies far better than I ever could.
