People being told to stop taking longer showers or rinsing dishes because of the drought across England. Seven areas across southern England have officially entered drought status amid an exceptionally dry summer, prompting calls for people to take shorter showers, fix leaks and reduce everyday water use. And the Data Centres? England is officially in drought in regions after one of the driest starts to the year since 1976. Okay man. Literally AI's fault. Get rid of data centres. Every day actually. End. I feel as though what if I deadass shut down these data centres though. In this weather. NECESSITY. It's a prime example of people just hearing shit online and just latching onto it. Like 500 or so data centres collectively use about 6.6 million litres of drinking water per day. Which you know, you're thinking that sounds crazy, surely the water uses that. But guess how much water the UK uses every day? 14 billion litres. That means AI sensors account for 0.047% of daily water consumption. Which means if we listen to those comments, scrap all data centres in the UK, we'd reduce the daily national water consumption by 0.047%. What the fuck is that gonna do for people in a drought? I think people need to actually research shit like, latch onto things and just social like the AI water consumption thing. It's so old now. It is so old. Surely no one actually still thinks like this.
