For context, he's responding to this but I just wanted to pop on and talk because I just find this fascinating, especially coming from a Scot. Let's just nip this ethno nationalist argument in the bud. It doesn't make modern world. It's ridiculous. If you were to classify every single person that has British ancestry as British and eligible to live in Britain that would include people within the Commonwealth United States. I find this cultural and racial superiority complex coming from a Scot fascinating, considering the fact that in the 18th and 19th centuries, upwards of 150,000 Scottish people fled Scotland Highland clearances. The Highland clearances were the forced evictions of Highlanders by wealthy landowners. These Highlanders lived typically as farmers crofts from these landowners. The land owners more money, right? And they found make more money by grazing sheep themselves. So what did tossed the people notice or anything. They literally toss people out of sometimes they even burned homes down, leaving thousands of people homeless. This basically destroyed the clan system as well as Gaelic culture. So Scottish people, being all superior had to flee because they were displaced. So they immigrated as refugees.
