Yesterday I received 9 very strong medications intravenously; I want to point out a few. IVIG to suppress my immune system via IV, insulin shots due to elevated glucose from the medications I am receiving, and a cancer medicine called bortezomib, which destroys mature cells and active plasma cells, given via a shot in my stomach. I also started a procedure called Plasmapheresis, which takes blood from my body, passes it through a filtration system that removes plasma and replaces it with albumin (an important protein), then returns the filtered blood to my body. The plasma that is removed contains my antibodies, which I have too many of, are the cause of my rejections, and pose a threat in the future. It's a total of 5 sessions, 2 hours each. I received all of these back-to-back, and I am hoping to feel the effects soon. Thanks for your prayers.
