Hi guys, it's a new semester, so you know I love to stay organized and let me show you the best way to do it using Notion. If you're new to Notion, it's definitely a little bit overwhelming at first, but once you really learn it, you will always go back to it. I use Notion for personal reasons, like reading this, my movie list, wishlist, my favorite recipes, and also for uni and work, which I really like because it keeps everything all in one place. Especially for typed notes. I'll help you create your first homepage, subpage, and a digital note-taking table. This video is mostly for beginners, so skip if you're pro, haha. So if you're overwhelmed, let me help you. So this is my own homepage. You guys have seen this before, but let's create your own. So you're gonna add a new page, empty page. And you're gonna create your headings. So let's say Jia's Home. Easy. Done. How do you add an icon and a cover? Easy. Just press add icon and you can choose any emoji of your choice, or you can upload anything from Pinterest. So cute. Okay, just uploaded my icon. Now I'm going to show you how to add a cover. Just press the add cover button and you can choose a plain color or again, you can add anything from Pinterest. There we go. That's the one I'm going to be choosing. How to change the font? You just press the three buttons in the top right corner. And I usually use Serif. There's also Mono, but again, I usually use Serif. So I'm going to choose that one. Creating your first page. All you're gonna do is slash page. Boom. There you go. Now, page ideas: wishlist, movielist, gym tracker, tbr. But I'm going to show you how to create an actual table. So you're gonna slash database in line. Empty data source. This is where you can create your notes. Bullet, question. Notes. Mitosis & Meiosis. You can add a property. So I'm going to add a few properties. We can multi-select. So this lets you create a bunch of options. You can add categories/labels. So I'm going to select tutorial and reading. So this topic, mitosis and meiosis, was used in a tutorial or reading. Some other helpful addons! You press plus again. There are so many options. You can even add a status bar. So if you started it, or you're in progress, or it's done. And what I really like is the text bar because you can honestly add anything. Let's say the last time I did this was on the 30th of July, and I created notes. If I press enter, I can also say maybe on the 8th of August, I reviewed it. It helps future you know which notes you've created and which you need to revise. You just created your first Notion page! This is just a simple tutorial on how to get started and not overthink about aesthetics too much, and just simply create notes straight away. If you do want a little bit more detail, let me know on what specific part. Highly rec. Sab Yang (I learned a lot from her) another notion queen: Breanna Quan!! Hopefully you can start using it and create your own notes and pages. Bye everyone <3
