Hook

Their other posts in the index, biggest breakout first.
You carried every wound but yours you were still alive beneath it. I thought silence made me kind. It only taught my heart to hide. I felt the sadness in the room before a word was said. Held everybody's fear until it thundered in my head. I buried every truth I had so no one else would ache. Gave away my peace to people happy just to take. Searched for light in everyone no matter what. They chose even when they praise the hurt and watched the hatred grow. The weight became a world I could not carry deep inside. So I reached beneath the surface where my darker feelings hide. I asked the dark to tell me why compassion felt like chains. Love was never meant to be permission for your pain. Can I still be something good if I finally draw the line? Guard the ones who need you oh without giving up your light. When the good man wakes he does not wake to hatred. He rises from the weight. He learns his love is sacred. I can walk beside the shadows and still answer to the light. Oh I can hear the call of mercy and defend what I know is right. I will stand for every innocent, every soul. Every soul they pushed aside. The darkened path has awakened. And the good man is alive. I am alive still. Reaching for the light. Still guarding what is right. I know the dark. I choose the light. The good man is alive. I did not lose my empathy. You learn where it belongs. And still carry on. Not every hand deserves my strength. Not every voice deserves. Not every heart that asked for love has earned the right to answer here.
