Here's your Spokane wildfire update as of August 3rd. The wildfire situation is still critical. Three major fires burning under a unified command. Old Trails and Autumn Lane and Fairview fires have now burned roughly 8,000 acres combined. All three remain at zero percent containment. More than 600 to be destroyed, including homes, businesses and out buildings. Officials warn the number could rise as damage assessment teams reach more neighborhoods. At the height of the crisis, around 60,000 people were evacuated. Level 3 Go Now and Level 2 Get Set zones remain active across Northwest Spokane and the Mead area. There's one piece of encouraging news. Fairview fire forward spread has been stopped, but Fairview, Old Trails and Autumn Lane are still active. Cooler temps and lighter winds should help firefighters. Although dry fuels, unhealthy air quality remains a serious concern. No fatalities or serious injuries have been confirmed, which is excellent news. The very latest. Continue to follow and provide you the latest information as we get it.
