Hey guys, Cody Stokes here. Every duck hunter and conservationist needs to pay attention to what's happening right now. Some of the most important waterfowl breeding habitat in North America is at risk. And we need to make our voices heard. For generations, federal duck stamp dollars have helped purchase conservation easements across the prairie pothole region, also known as North America's duck factory. We cannot overstate how critical this region is to duck production and our fall flight. These easements were voluntarily sold by landowners and established to protect these wetlands for generations to come. Now, the Fish and Wildlife Service of the United States is considering changes to drain tile setbacks around those easements that could weaken their protection. Many of these wetlands are shallow and seasonal, and even a small change in water levels could be detrimental to future duck production. We cannot afford to stay silent. These easements were funded in large part through our federal duck stamp purchases, and those agreements need to be upheld. Please submit a public comment, sign the petition at the link in our bio, and share this with all of your hunting buddies. The comment period closes August 7th. We must stand up for the future of waterfowl. Thank you all.
