This is Yaya Spa, a very very short trip from Manhattan. They just opened and I'm about to take you along with me. When you walk in, you're immediately greeted with some nice tea and some nice snacks. They have you put on these little slippers that are very comfy. They have you fill out this initial form and it kind of has you fill out things about your scalp and your concerns about your hair. I have actually been looking for a service like this somewhere in New York City and I'm so glad I found it. This was my genuine reaction when they showed me what was on my scalp. Wow, you can see. Oh my gosh. I deal with a lot of scalp dryness and a lot of flakiness on my scalp and I was told by a dermatologist that it was due to a form of eczema and that I should use a clarifying shampoo and conditioner. None of that ever worked for me so I always just dealt with it, but actually they knew why. I was able to see my scalp and they showed me what was wrong with it, like blackheads, redness, she could see where it was itchy, which was really interesting to me. And she also explained how I can fix it, which felt like a huge relief because I've been trying to fix this issue for so many years of my life. Then they said they were going to proceed with the scalp treatment. She showed me and explained which products she was going to use on my hair. They washed my face and gave me a mini facial, a facial mask and heated eye mask, which was probably one of my favorite parts. All of this felt very relaxing and she even did a face mask. I opted for the 75 minute scalp therapy treatment and it includes a welcome fragrance ritual, a mini facial, a facial mask and heated eye mask, which was probably one of my favorite parts. The treatment also includes a very warm hair steam, which is also really relaxing. They went ahead and washed my hair with the shampoo and conditioner that we picked out together that would be most beneficial for my scalp. And the product was thoroughly rinsed out. They also did an arm, neck, shoulder and head massage on me, and that also felt really nice. And I always really like it when places do this warm towel. I had just gotten back from traveling the day before and all of this felt so rejuvenating and revitalizing. This viral waterfall rinsing is probably what you've seen all over the internet and it really is worth that hype. They did a few more massages and then cleaned off my face and then a hair drying is also included. Overall, this was a great second stop to my wellness in NYC journey. Yaya Spa being located right across the water in New Jersey making it very easy to get to from the city. They also offer a variety of other services including nails and full facials. I will 100% be back at Yaya Spa.
