Let's plant this bad boy and I'll show you how to assemble a moss pole. Here's everything we'll need for this setup. We'll need a moss pole kit, some good quality sphagnum moss, and this little stick to help pack into the pole. Let's fill the first section of the moss pole with sphagnum moss. This part takes a few minutes, so I'll speed it up. Just keep packing until it's full. Attach the first pole segment to the pole holder by screwing it in. Repeat the same process for the second pole segment. Pack the moss tightly so there aren't any gaps between the segments. This ensures the moisture travels evenly through the entire moss pole when watering from the drip reservoir. Next, screw the drip reservoir into place. We are planting. Let me first gently remove this plant from its nursery pot. For the soil, I'll use my own potting mix: one part coconut core, one part potting soil, and one part perlite. This keeps the mix light, airy, and well-draining while holding enough moisture for healthy roots. Grab a few plant clips. Let's move this plant into its new home. Gently loosen the soil around the roots. This encourages the roots to spread into the new potting mix more quickly. Once you're happy with the position, secure the plant to the moss pole using one of the clips. Attach the clip by pushing it into one of the moss pole openings until it locks into place. Fill in the remaining gaps with your potting mix, gently pressing it down as you go. With fresh potting mix and a sturdy pole, everything your plant needs to thrive. Make sure to water it thoroughly after repotting and keep your moss pole evenly moist. This will encourage the aerial roots to grow into the moss and climb the pole. This is day one.
