I know what you're thinking - I don't have time for that. But hear me out, because this completely changed weeknight dinners in our house and I think it will do the same for yours. Spend a couple of hours one afternoon making and prepping your homemade pizzas and what you get in return is multiple nights of dinner that is completely handled. Dough already made. Sauce already prepped. Toppings ready to go. All you have to do is pull it out and throw it in the oven. That's it. If that isn't the definition of a time saver I don't know what is. Now flip over that frozen pizza box and read what you've been feeding your family. 50+ ingredients including modified food starch, artificial flavors, soybean oil, and preservatives with names you can't pronounce. All hiding inside something that's supposed to be a simple, enjoyable meal. Homemade pizza has a handful of real, simple ingredients. Real dough. Real sauce. Real toppings. The kind of meal your family gets excited about and that you feel completely good about putting on the table. And the money you save? Significant. A frozen pizza runs $8-12 per box and barely feeds a large family. Homemade pizzas cost a fraction of that per pie and make enough to feed everyone with leftovers to spare. Those last minute, chaotic, what's for dinner nights become calm and completely manageable when dinner is already waiting in your freezer made with real ingredients and ready to go in the oven. Click the link in my bio to get the recipe that is going to take your pizza nights to the next level! Ingredients: 2 tsp active dry yeast 1 tsp sugar 1 cup warm water 3 Tbsp avocado / olive oil 2 tsp salt 2 ½ cups all purpose flour Directions: 1. In a large bowl (or stand mixer with dough hook), combine yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let stand for 3-4 minutes until yeast foams. 2. Add olive oil and salt to the yeast mixture and stir in most of the flour (reserve about ½ cup), until dough begins to come together. 3. If too wet, add remaining flour gradually, kneading between additions until dough forms a ball but still feels slightly sticky. If too dry, add a splash of water or olive oil and work it in. Knead for 3-5 minutes. 4. Cover dough with a tea towel and let rest for at least 10 minutes (up to an hour for more flavor development). 5. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and divide into 2 balls. 6. Preheat oven to 450°F. 7. Shape your dough into desired pizza size. 8. Par-bake the crusts (without any toppings) for 5-7 minutes, until they're just beginning to firm up but not yet browned. Remove from oven and let cool completely on a wire rack. 9. Once cooled, add your favorite sauce, cheese, and toppings to the par-baked crusts. 10. Wrap each assembled pizza tightly in plastic wrap, (i like to place them on cardboard rounds) then place in a freezer bag or wrap in foil for extra protection. Freeze up to 2 months. 1. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 475°F. 2. Remove plastic wrap from the frozen pizza (no need to thaw). 3. Place directly on a baking steel, stone, or baking sheet. 4. Bake for 12-18 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden brown. #homemaderecipes #homemade #lifeofahomemaker #mealprep #madefromscratch
