The Apple Card situation is not looking good. Starting with the fact that Goldman Sachs, they're the partner for the card, the bank that provides the money, they've lost billions of dollars and they're cutting their losses. Yeah, turns out if you make a great interface for people, it's not good for banks because then people know actually how much money they're spending and how much they'd have to pay if they didn't pay their bill in full. What other credit card has ever made that easy to understand? They don't want to because that's how they make money. The Apple Card also made it easy to understand where you were spending money with icons, rather than that weird thing in your bank statement that you're like, where did I spend that at? And I don't think the Apple Card gets enough credit for the daily cash feature where you didn't have to wait till the end of the month to get your cash back. They gave it to you the day after. That is unheard of. That is still one of the coolest advancements in banking we've probably ever seen. All of this you might notice is very bad though if you are the bank that is trying to make money from this partnership and that is the bank of Goldman Sachs. Yeah, I mean, I feel like you couldn't just looked at the Goldman Sachs executive and be like, hmm, if we don't screw people over for fees, how do we make money? It just sucks because I really like it and I hope that a new partner is found because unless American Express or somebody steps in, the Apple Card's probably dead.
