If you want lush lavender in your garden next year, lush lavender? You need to do this right now. You need to do this right now. Don't just stand there, your lavender needs a haircut. We want lots of fresh new growth to encourage flowering next year. You can be pretty brutal with a lavender, but don't cut it back to old wood. You can tell when it needs a haircut, cause it'll start to look grey and dull like this, unlike the fresh new growth, which it's obviously the best colour in the world. For big borders like this, I tend to use a hedge trimmer, but you can of course use secateurs or shears and they'll do just as good a job.
