Status today and survival in 2030 are two different axes, and almost nobody plots them together. Top right is the uncomfortable corner. Equity research, corporate law, actuarial, radiology, IB analyst. Prestigious, credentialed, well paid, and built almost entirely on processing information at scale. That is the exact task the tools got good at first. Bottom left is the corner nobody wants to admit is winning. Electrician, plumber, paramedic, chef, childcare. Nobody’s parents brag about it, and nobody’s writing a model that replaces it. The honest version: it isn’t the job that gets replaced, it’s the task.
