Life is interesting like that. You can spend years thinking you know exactly who you are, what your life is supposed to look like, and where you’re headed… then somehow end up wandering down a path you never even knew existed. Some paths feel like home immediately. Some make absolutely no sense until much later. Some introduce you to people you never expected to meet, places you never thought you’d see, and versions of yourself you didn’t know were waiting in there. I think that’s one of the things I appreciate most about getting older. At 40, I’m a lot less interested in having everything figured out. I’m a country momma who still loves the simple things. Bare feet. Sunshine. Water. Back roads. Being outside. Laughing until my stomach hurts. Quiet mornings and nights that accidentally turn into stories. But I’m also realizing there’s still a whole lot of life I haven’t experienced yet. Maybe we aren’t supposed to know exactly where every road leads. Maybe sometimes you take the turn because something about it feels right. You follow the little rabbit hole. You meet the stranger. You try the thing. You change your mind. You surprise yourself.
