I became an 18-year-old private chef in Arizona. I didn't go to culinary school, so I'm gonna tell you how I did it while I make matcha. It started when I was 17 and lived in Louisiana. I knew I kind of wanted to do this as a job, but I didn't know how. So I talked to my friends and they said there was this lady who needed help with cooking. So I was like, I'll go help her out. I got paid $12 an hour, but she let me make whatever I wanted. And I did that for like a year. I would go once a week and meal prep for her, whatever she wanted to make. Different meals. This time I was also working full-time in a coffee shop and I started to get burnt out. I would look forward to the one day every week I got to cook after a couple more months, I was like, you know what? I know clients is the biggest question. How did you get more clients? I'm telling you, you just got to put yourself out there. Did I know exactly what I was doing? No, I had no idea. But I was like, I'm gonna try anyway. So I made like a little ad of what I offered on Canva and I joined a bunch of Facebook groups near me. I just put it on there and people would reach out. Just from there. So when I moved to Arizona, I was like, kind of scared to start up things in the big city. But I did by just putting an ad out there on Facebook again, in a local group near me. I got my first client here. At this point, I only had like 500 followers. The next video, my second video went viral. I gained a bit of followers and I had people reaching out through social media. I've had about 700 to 800 people reach out. So when I don't respond to you, I'm sorry. I can only take on like five. Oh, so that's what happens in the ads. My social media grew and I just hit 50,000 like 10,000 two weeks ago. It's just crazy how I learned how to edit my videos and are. You are. I'm telling you, I did not know what I was doing when I first started, but I had a dream and I couldn't afford culinary school. So I was like, I'm going to figure this out without it. And I did. You know, if you have a dream and passion for cooking, and you put in the work for it, you can do something like this too. With that being said, I'm working on creating a website that is going to connect people like me who want to do what I do with clients that want this done for them. That's super exciting. That's my story and it encourages somebody. All I got to say is you just chase it. If you were scared to post or scared to put yourself out there, just do it. There's gonna be haters who'd say that I'm not a chef or not qualified or whatever. But guess what? I don't care. I'm making my dream life and those comments mean nothing to me.
