Why it worked

The video taps into strong 2000s nostalgia by showcasing a popular brand from that era and personal artifacts from the creator's past. The relatable humor about not washing clothes and the coincidental movie ticket discovery add to its charm and shareability.

Summary

The creator found two old relics in the back pocket of an Abercrombie skirt from 2004: her clock-in receipt from when she worked there and a movie ticket stub. She humorously notes that the skirt appears to have been washed, and the movie ticket was for 'Troy,' which she finds a funny coincidence given the release of 'The Odyssey.'

Structure

1Discovery of Abercrombie skirt from 2004
2Finding clock-in receipt
3Finding movie ticket stub
4Humorous observation about washing and movie coincidence
5Showing Abercrombie shopping bag as bonus

Product placement

Abercrombie & Fitch: ACTS - The creator worked there and is showing a skirt from 2004 that she bought while employed there. The skirt is the central focus of the video. Removing it would change the video entirely. APPEARS - The Abercrombie & Fitch logo is on a shopping bag in the background. Removing it would not change the video.

Omg look what I found in the back pocket of this Abercrombie skirt from 2004 when I worked there! THIS IS CRAZY. SO, OBVIOUSLY, THROUGH MY ABERCROMBIE STUFF A LOT, AND, I MEAN, YOU CAN KIND THIS SKIRT LOOKS NEWLY WASHED. UM, BUT, YEAH, IN THE BACK POCKET, OBVIOUSLY HAVING BEEN WASHED. THIS IS MY CLOCK IN RECEIPT FROM JULY 24TH, 2004. IT LOOKS LIKE I WAS FOUR MINUTES LATE. OOPSIES. UM, AND THEN THIS IS WEIRD, BECAUSE THIS WAS ALSO WASHED, BUT IT'S NOT FROM THE SAME DATE, BUT IT'S FROM SEEING THE MOVIE TROY, WHICH IS KIND FULL CIRCLE, SINCE THE ODYSSEY IS OUT NOW. FROM MAY 23RD, 2004. I HAVE A FEELING I JUST DIDN'T WASH THE SKIRT VERY MUCH. HAHA HA HA! AND HERE'S THE BONUS FOR Y'ALL, JUST BECAUSE ABERCROMBIE. YAY!

Omg I found two relics in the back pocket of this Abercrombie skirt from 2004! First, my clock-in ticket from working there in July 2004, and secondly, a movie ticket stub from seeing Troy in May 2004! Kind of odd that I found this when The Odyssey is out. But yeah, it seems as if I did not wash this skirt often. 🤣🫣 Honestly that’s kind of the key to keeping things looking new! Only wash when necessary! I can’t believe these survived both a washing machine and two decades after that. ❤️😱 Here’s an Abercrombie bag from around the same year-I know y’all love those! 🤣🥰 #abercrombie #2000sthrowback #2000sfashion #theodyssey #troy
