Shortly before the Second World War exploded, a small chapter of the Communist Party was founded on U.S. soil, with a mission to fight for labor and civil rights. As always, communism was misrepresented. The "Red Scare" was a popular moniker to get people to vilify anyone who expressed support for basic human rights. How dare people be concerned about workers rights and the rich getting even richer at the cost of human x-ploitation? Rumors of double agents spying for Russia were also spreading like wildfire. And communism was shunned and deemed "a danger to American liberties" under the guise of Russia and China BEING OUR M0RTAL 3NEM*EZ. Shortly after the Second World War under J. Edgar Hoover, a witch hunt was launched to persecute anyone who had communist ideologies. This was a particularly important and violent turn in the history of U.S. politics With the rise of capitalist figureheads like Richard Nixon and Joseph McCarthy. Both of these incel losers LOOOOOOOOOVED to make outrageous accusations, distorting and fabricating evidence to ostracize the commies. McCarthyism is a political practice defined by the accusation and investigation of left-wing individuals of Communist and Soviet influence on American institutions and of Soviet espionage in the United States during the late 1940s through the 1950s, heavily associated with the McCarthy era. After the mid-1950s, U.S. senator Joseph McCarthy, who had spearheaded the campaign, gradually lost his public popularity after several of his accusations were found to be false. The U.S. Supreme Court under Chief Justice Earl Warren made a series of rulings on civil and political rights that overturned several key laws and legislative directives, and helped bring an end to the Second Red Scare. The term McCarthyism was coined to describe the anti-communist movement that was rampant throughout this period of time, which also happened to align with the Cold War and the race to space. As a side note, it was important to mention that McCarthy of 💀, FYI. So why is it that communism and socialism have such a bad reputation, particularly in the US?
