This is super human crash avoidance. Human drivers in stop and go must force forward to maintain spacing. They can't respond quickly and precisely to spontaneous risks from the rear. None of the human drivers here saw it coming. Tesla FSD reportedly avoided a crash by moving onto the shoulder just before impact. According to the driver's frame-by-frame analysis, FSD began reacting about 0.17 seconds before the at-fault vehicle started moving toward the Tesla.
