We don't often see the raw reality of a baby's final days. I wanted to share this to show that even in the deepest heartbreak, there was peace, warmth, love and connection. Avery had a G-tube, and this was the last time he ever ate by mouth and I happened to record it on video. This latch took sheer determination and this was one of the final things he was consciously able to do in this life. I don’t believe that breastfeeding requires a filter, but the internet being what it is, I wanted to limit being reported and having this precious video suppressed.
