Omega always sat alone by the window, silently waiting for Alpha to return. He waited every day, even knowing that what awaited him behind that door was sometimes just a stranger, an Alpha. Omega used to love his scent. It used to be something that brought him peace of mind; a fleeting whiff was enough to know he was home. But now, that familiar scent was tinged with another. A scent so unfamiliar it made Omega's heart ache. He bowed his head, gently clutching his shirt, his voice trembling: "—I loved your scent... but now, it has another scent. A scent I don't want to smell." Omega remained silent for a long time, then gave a faint smile. "—I used to think that just your return would be enough. But it seems... the person I wait for every day is no longer the Alpha I once loved." Outside the window, the sky darkened. Omega remained seated, for the first time unsure whether he wanted to wait for that door to open.
