MVT GATSnTHIRD BATCHnFULL STRUCTURAL UPDATEnREFERENCE STANDARDnCLASSIC WHITE GATS RETAIL PAIRnPURCHASED IN 2021n#1 RESULTSnTHE REFERENCE COMES FIRSTnThis is the third batch of our GATS. Here are the main updates.nThis batch is built entirely around the classic white GATS retail pair which we purchased in 2021, and refined a few details by hand. As shown in our development photos, every component now matches that retail pair.nThis comparison is specifically based on our classic white 2021 retail pair. Comparing it with other retail pairs is not especially meaningful, because we have already known that retail pairs very serious features and production years.n#2nA COMPLETELY REBUILT SHAPEnWe rebuilt the overall shoe shape and adjusted every pattern piece to match our retail sample exactly.n#3nLONGER, WIDER TONGUEnWe improved both the length and width of the tongue. As shown, the new tongue dimensions and shape now match our retail sample.n#4nREWORKED TOE SHAPEnThe toe box was one of the most common points of customer feedback. We completely redesigned the toe box and rebuilt the toe box from that reference. The new toe box shape now matches our retail sample.n#04nNEW OUTSOLE MOLD — NOW TRUE TO SIZEnWe created a new outsole mold and increased the outsole length. Using the design and size of a new pair as our reference, the outsole matches a standard 285mm, consistent with our size chart. Because the bottom dimensions are now larger, the new batch fits true to size. Internal space is approximately 3 mm greater than before, while the revised shape follows the foot more closely.n#05nTHICKER, REBALANCED OUTSOLEnOur previous outsole mold was based on the Future version. After resampling and re-engineering the retail outsole, we recalibrated its weight and thickness. The new outsole is slightly thicker.n#06nRETAIL-STYLE THREE-LAYER MIDSOLEnWe changed the entire midsole construction to match retail. This method is a three-layer insole system: one full-length layer, one half-length middle depth, and one one-layer designed to sit against the outsole. The three-layer structure integrates an insole and our new outsole mold. Underfoot feel matches retail, while durability is improved over our previous batch.n#07nCOWHIDE LEATHER INSOLEnWe changed the insole to cowhide leather because some retail pairs use cowhide insoles. We found that this material looks better, feels better underfoot, and does not wrinkle. It is also more durable than sheepskin.nNO SHORTCUTS — VISIBLE OR HIDDENnThis new batch is not merely a cosmetic vignette. It is a complete made-out-of-the-box product. The non-woven fabric, foam padding, and every stitch is marked and produced according to the retail shoe.
