Here are 15+ plants you can get outside after August 15th in the low desert of Phoenix, Zone 9b! How are your summer gardens doing so far?! There’s a heat wave warning from Monday - Wednesday so you can start with hardening off your squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers and get them planted once the heat passes. I’ve been planting out seedlings at 7pm with 0 hardening and as long as they have water and shade, they’ve been ok 🤷‍♀️ I’m still starting tons of tomatoes, peppers, squash, and pumpkins indoors that I’ll get planted out until mid September. I’m spending more time indoors at the moment - I’ve gotten my brassicas, herbs, and flowers started until more space on my seed starting shelf opens up. I’m also topping off all my raised beds with compost, raised bed mix, and starter fertilizer and updating my irrigation so that everything is ready to go in September. I’ve ordered my seed potatoes, garlic, and some flower plugs as well. I also added a Freyr trellis for growing indeterminate tomatoes, so we’ll see how that does!#zone9b #desertgarden #summergarden #arizonagardening #gardendesign
