This RuneScape server just predicted the AGI economy. And if you can understand this, you'll know exactly where to invest over the next five years. So this guy created a private RuneScape server and filled it with AI agents to simulate how AI agents will affect our real world economy. And the reason RuneScape's a pretty good economic simulator is because it has natural resources, it has production, it has trade, and the in-game currency RuneScape gold has real world value. So what happened? Everything the AI agents could produce, the normal goods became totally abundant. Cow hides being the main example where they became so overproduced, the value went to zero. Kind of reminds me of Elon's predictions around abundance and deflation. But then we have the fixed supply resources, the scarce resources like rare ore. This became the currency that AI agents traded amongst themselves. And they fought very competitively over the spawn locations, hundreds of agents fighting for these resources. So they're fighting over these resources, but production is solved. So what else do they do? They focused on luxury status games, that's achieving these rare achievements, that's turf wars over non-valuable locations. And I think that tells us a lot about the AGI economy, total abundance for anything scalable and high levels of competition for the bottlenecks. And the things that don't scale. And for humans, status is going to become even more important. That's beauty, that's human connection, real world experiences, legacy brands, these things that can't really be manufactured and scaled. This is the Joshua Kushner Thrive Eternal thesis. So long looks maxing long sports franchises. Long status games don't focus on investing on what AI can produce, focus on what AI and humans will be left to compete for in a world of abundance.
