Here is her BEFORE. She has low-density hair with visible scalp, sparse thinning, and patchy hair loss. I can’t diagnose alopecia or identify the type of hair loss. Possible causes include traction alopecia, CCCA, alopecia areata, and other forms of thinning. A dermatologist would need to evaluate her scalp for a proper diagnosis. For her transformation, we used 300 custom braid loc extensions. And here is the AFTER! 😍 She looks amazing, and her confidence is everything—just look at that little shimmy! 😂 Now for the process: For the areas of hair loss, she chose the braided-anchor method over mesh. We crocheted custom Nina Nocs into the foundation to add fullness and coverage. Because of her low-density hair, we used a 3/8 sizing tool to create slightly larger sections for a stronger foundation. It may look sparse at first, but as the braid locs mature, everything softens and blends beautifully. We installed the extensions on the ends only, leaving her natural hair at the root.
