A Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) employee, identified as Gagash, has been arrested by the Hawks in connection with an alleged R1.75 million fraud involving funds from a deceased estate. According to the investigation, R1.65 million was allegedly transferred to McCarthy Mercedes-Benz Wonderboom towards the purchase of a pre-owned Mercedes-Benz AMG G63, with a further R100,000 reportedly paid. Gagash is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court. His wife, Charlotte Tibana, a lawyer and owner of a law firm, has also been named as a suspect in the matter and is reportedly being traced by investigators. The Hawks allege that the couple acted with a common purpose in the transactions.
