Pitbulls can overheat faster than most people realize 🌡️ Most owners don't find this out until they're sitting in an emergency vet at 11pm wondering what went wrong. Heatstroke can become dangerous for a pit bull in a short window on a hot day. Their short coat and muscular build mean they hold onto heat differently than other breeds. They also tend to push through exercise even when they're overheating, since they don't self-regulate the way some other dogs do. The signs people miss: 🌡️ Panting louder than normal 🌡️ Gums going bright red or pale 🌡️ Back legs going weak 🌡️ Drooling more than usual By the time you see vomiting or collapse, you're already in emergency territory.
