There’s an old abandoned PRISON in Cabarrus County that has been turned into a WHISKEY DISTILLERY. 🥃😳 And yes… it’s every bit as cool as it sounds. Southern Grace Distilleries at Whiskey Prison in Mount Pleasant, NC kept so many of the original prison features intact... you’ll walk past old cell blocks, prison cells, original signs, faded paint, and even solitary confinement while learning how they make whiskey right there on the property. You’ll also hear music BLASTING through the old jailhouse… and it’s actually part of the whiskey-making process. 👀 The tour mixes prison history, old bootlegging stories, moonshine history, and whiskey production into one of the most unique experiences we’ve done in Cabarrus County. And after the tour?
