NEW CHINESE BBQ RICHMOND HILL I’ve been seeing this new Chinese BBQ spot, and they’re even inviting influencers to spread the word. Not me but that’s ok because they’re on my radar now. They might be affiliated with the restaurant next door with a similar name, I don’t actually know. 🏷️ the promo Grand opening specials until end of August, including selected BBQ rice combos (not sure which ones) and roast pork for $9.80/lb. I have no idea what the prices will look like after, enjoy it while it lasts. Meals come with free plum juice too, one of my least favorite things. It’s cash only, then they charged tax. Cash only AND tax? 🍖 the bbq Tried the BBQ pork, roast pork and duck, and nothing tasted like it’s been hanging around all day, not even the rice. However, immediately noticed one thing. All three meats, sweeter than any other Chinese BBQ I’ve ever had. Is that bad? Depends on you. 🤔 verdict Yes, I’m aware ingredients like sugar are part of the caramelization process, but the sweetness here is still a legit observation. And at 6 p.m. they still had plenty of options. Usually by that time, Chinese BBQ spots don’t have much. I’m keeping in mind they are still new, but can’t say I’d go outta my way for this one. two meats on rice $11.80 duck on rice $12.80 Find it at Seafood Palace.
