National Park By Houseboat? Here's what you need to know 👇🚤 We explored Voyageurs National Park in Minnesota on an Ebel’s houseboat (hosted), with our friends Adam and Kathryn (AdventuresOfAPlusK) and @schoandjo 📌Save this post if a houseboat trip through Voyageurs is on your list. Here's what we learned exploring it by boat. 🚤 Short on time or new to boating? Start with a ranger-guided tour. We took the 2.5 hour Grand Tour out of the Rainy Lake Visitor Center and it was a great first look at the park. Tours leave from several visitor centers and popular ones fill up, so book ahead. 🛶 Want more independence? Rent a kayak, canoe, or motorboat and explore at your own pace. 🏠 Ready to go all in? A houseboat lets you spend several nights fully immersed on the water. We rented a 3-bedroom, 2-bath, 51 foot boat from Ebel's Voyageur Houseboats, a third generation family business operating here since before Voyageurs was even a national park. One of the park's houseboat campsites is even named after them. ⏰ How much time do you need? We spent 5 nights on a houseboat, which was the right amount of time to slow down, cover the multiple lakes that make up the park, and not feel rushed. 🗺️ Using the two dinghies that came with our houseboat, we explored I.W. Stevens Resort, a homestead turned resort, Hoist Bay, an old logging site, and Kettle Falls, home to a historic hotel known as the "Tilted Hilton."
