What do I bring to the table? Nothing. I make the appointments. I do the laundry. I remember the birthdays, the practices, the permission slips, and who needs what, when. I cheer from the sidelines. I pray over the wine and hold them through the losses. I make sure everyone is fed, loved, supported, and okay—even on the days when I'm not. I'm the alarm clock. The chauffeur. The snack maker. The late night talk. The biggest cheerleader and the safest place to fall apart. I protect. I nurture. I encourage. I pray. I carry a thousand little things no one else even realizes need carrying. So no, I don't bring anything to the table. I am the table.
