After 4 years, 2 months and 26 days, I finally submitted my resignation. ✈️➡️🏋️♂️ This chapter means a lot to me. I came to Canada as an international student in 2010, studied electronics, and eventually spent almost seven years working in the electronics industry. Then COVID happened, I got laid off, and after being between jobs for a while, I found my way to the airport as a screening officer. What I originally thought would simply be another job ended up teaching me so much. I’m naturally an introverted person, and I had never worked around so many different people before. The airport taught me communication, teamwork, patience, how to handle pressure and how to deal with different personalities. More importantly, I learned a lot about myself. I met some amazing people, built friendships and made memories that I’ll always carry with me. Access 7 will definitely always have a special place in my heart. 😂❤️( YYC Airport FAVOURITE SPOT TO WORK 🤫) But throughout those years, fitness was always in the back of my mind. I knew I wanted it to become more than a hobby. I wanted to coach people, build something of my own and eventually open my own gym. Making that transition wasn’t easy because I had lived the regular-job lifestyle since I started working at 18. Walking away from a guaranteed paycheque and betting on yourself sounds exciting, but when you have responsibilities, it’s a completely different feeling. That’s why I didn’t just quit and hope everything would work out. I used my airport job as the bridge to my dream. I worked my shifts and used my evenings, weekends and days off to build my coaching business. I trained clients, built my online system, learned business, made mistakes, reinvested and kept going. There were plenty of exhausting days, but deep down I knew what I wanted. Slowly, the coaching grew, the vision became bigger, and eventually that dream became JS FITNESS and my own gym. Looking back now, every chapter played a role. From international student, to electronics, to getting laid off during COVID, to airport screening officer, to coach, and now gym owner. It wasn’t a straight road, but I wouldn’t change the journey. To everyone I worked with at the airport, thank you for the conversations, laughs, memories and lessons. If I ever had a misunderstanding with anyone, I have no hard feelings whatsoever. I genuinely wish everyone success, health and happiness. Keep supporting each other and working as a team. I also genuinely hope you guys continue fighting together for the recognition and compensation you deserve for the work you do. The airport will always have a soft spot in my heart, and hopefully I’ll still see familiar faces whenever I travel. And if you guys miss me too much, you know where to find me. 😂 Come visit JS FITNESS. A lot of people from the airport have already joined, and I’ll definitely look after my airport family. JS FITNESS is about much more than equipment and workouts. My goal is to build a community where we develop strong physiques, discipline, confidence, better habits and a stronger mindset. I’ve put my heart and soul into building this place, and we’re only getting started. If there’s one lesson I can leave from this chapter, it’s this: you don’t always need to quit your 9-to-5 to chase your dream. Use your 9-to-5 to fund the transition. Use your evenings and weekends to build your passion. Take one step at a time until the moment comes when you’re ready to go all in. After 4 years, 2 months and 26 days, that moment has finally come for me. You only get one life. Keep dreaming, keep building and follow your passion. ❤️ Thank you, airport family. I’m going to miss you all. Airport chapter complete. ✈️ JS FITNESS chapter just getting started. 🏋️♂️🔥
