This vehicle's making noise when it goes over bumps and the customer is convinced that it needs sway bar links because that's what my dad said. I said, you know what? You might be right, but first we should diagnose the problem properly. And the customer told me to fuck myself, so that's what I did. So I'm doing front struts right now. And you may be asking, Bobby, is that the source of the noise? You know me, I did a little poking around and yeah, we need sway bar links. Now some of you may be thinking to yourself, Bobby, you should really tell the customer what the actual problem is. And you might be right. Guess what? Not gonna do it. You're gonna get OEM sway bar links for 80 bucks for the pair, but no. We're gonna do $500 struts assemblies. I don't want to pay for diag because that's extra money. I already know what the problem is. Do you? A lot of customers talk about yeah, my dad's a mechanic or my brother's a mechanic or my uncle's a mechanic. And I'm just gonna go ahead and make a statement based off of my collective experience. They're not. So, customer states the other shop already diagnosed it. They said it needs an engine. I said, hey, before we do any repairs, we should perform our own diagnosis. And they politely responded with fuck no. It's not running, there's no compression, it needs an engine. Fix it. Well, hey, don't keep me from bouncing on it. I guess we're doing an engine. I gotta admit, curiosity got the better of me, you know? So I started sniffing a little fucking, you know, we have 150 PSI across all four cylinders on the compression test. So, anyway, I did some more digging and, yeah, ECM wasn't plugged all the way in. Scoreboard, you know what I mean? Bobby, that's great. What did the customer say when you told them the good news? What do you mean, bro? Customers always right. Yeah, so I got this K series if anyone needs it. Oh, fuck. Whoops. Customer states my car won't start. Customer states the other shop told them it needs an engine. I said, hey, before we do any repairs, we should perform our own diagnosis. And they said, fuck no. They said, you know what? I don't need a man to help me. I'd rather spend $200 to diagnose that problem. Now, Bobby, surely you're not gonna charge her to diagnose that problem. It only took you two seconds to figure out what the problem was. Fuck you. Because if all the supplies that this repair took, I don't want to spend $200 for someone else to do it. I'd rather spend $600 trying to do it myself. Because I'm a genius.
