So I turned 30 years old today and I wanna tell you everything that I messed up in my 20s and everything that I learned. Because at 30 years old, I sit here and say I don't regret an ounce of my 20s. But I certainly made enough mistakes to litter an entire wall full of things that I could point to, say, I wish I didn't do that, I wish I did it differently. But the truth is, all of us are experiencing life at our own pace. And really, what I've learned by the time I'm 30 is that time is so goddamn finite. We are so close to the end and we don't even realize. And so I played majority of my 20s somewhat safe. And towards the back half of my 20s, I started to be a little bit more myself. Started to be more authentic. Started to take a little bit more risk. Started posting on social media constantly. And that only exposed myself to some of the most amazing people I've ever met, some of the most amazing experiences that I ever could have had. And once I stopped being the guy who was drinking at the same spot, the guy who's hanging out with just the same people, the guy who was okay with just going to work and working out and going out on the weekends. And I started living life bigger and understanding that if I expose myself to experiences that caused discomfort, I will grow and I will be better for it. And trying to help other people only brings it back and pours into your cup. So if you're constantly figuring out how to fill your cup with experience, with information, with resources, you can fill back into others. And I work in a line of work, my business is littered with guys with gray hair and I don't have any of that, thank god. But I invite it because at some point that will obviously help me. But at 30, I've been very productive because I've been able to create relationships. And I constantly care about how I make people feel and the impact that I can make on them. So I'm constantly trying to help. And once I started that more go-giver mentality, life really opened up for me. And putting myself out online was one of the most uncomfortable things to do. I got trashed on the internet. I still do. But doing it has exposed me to some of the experiences that I never could have imagined for myself. So now I start to think bigger about my life and my impact. Especially after I got impacted by a car in March. It changed my whole thought process about how I wanna live my life. Do I wanna feel free or do I wanna feel scared of it? Do I wanna feel comfort or do I invite discomfort into my life so that I can become better? That discomfort is what creates the cause for change, to make you into the human being that you have the potential to be. And it exposes you to the people that will influence who you are. Because everybody around you is a microcosm of who you are. And you adapt and adopt all the things that you appreciate and you love about those types of people. Unfortunately, you will adapt and adopt some of the negativities of the people that you have in your toxic circle. And if you can create a less toxic circle or a non-toxic circle, the people around you become magnetic. So as I sit here, as I walk into my 30s, knowing that I made so many mistakes in my 20s, but I have so much opportunity in my 30s. Y'all can start calling me Uncle and wish me a happy birthday, cause it's gonna be a big one.
