Why it worked

The video uses humor and a relatable narrative of "idea theft" to create engagement. The visual of a large, valuable tuna and the implication of a race or competition likely resonated with viewers, driving shares and comments.

Summary

The video humorously suggests that "Santa Cruz" stole "Togi's" idea of catching a large tuna, showing clips of Togi catching a tuna and then implying Santa Cruz did the same shortly after. The narrative is presented with on-screen text and cuts between different scenes.

Structure

1Introduction of Togi's "tuna idea"
2Togi catching a large tuna
3Implication that Santa Cruz also caught a tuna
4Highlighting the value of the tuna
5Concluding with the "crew" and the large tuna

Product placement

Mercury (outboard motors): APPEARS - visible on the back of the boat. Removing it would not change what happens in the video. AlwaysTogi (creator handle/brand): ACTS - appears on screen multiple times, indicating the creator of the content. Removing it would change the attribution of the content but not the narrative. Afico (fishing gear brand): APPEARS - logo on a bag. Removing it would not change what happens in the video.
