Why it worked

The video leverages the star power of Denzel Washington and a relatable, humorous anecdote about a specific cultural product (Guinness) to create engaging content. The unexpected twist of mistaking a Guinness for a 'hurricane' adds a memorable and shareable element.

Summary

Denzel Washington recounts a past anecdote about stopping for Guinness at Shannon Airport while refueling his plane. He humorously describes how the bartender would sometimes mistake his request for a Guinness for a request for a hurricane drink.

Structure

1Denzel no longer drinks Guinness.
2Recounts past drinking days and travel stops.
3Story about stopping for gas and Guinness at Shannon Airport.
4Bartender mistook Guinness for a 'hurricane'.
5Humorous anecdote about the drink order.

Product placement

Guinness: ACTS - it is a beverage that is consumed. Removing it would change the story. JOE.ie: APPEARS - it is the creator's brand name/logo. Removing it would not change what happens in the video.

“It would take 10 minutes just to pour the Guinness” 😂 Denzel Washington chatted to JOE back in 2017 when he was promoting his film ‘Fences’ 👏 He chatted about how when he used to drink, he would grab a pint in Shannon Airport while the plane was refuelling 😂 #ireland #irish #dublin #denzelwashington #guinness

I don't drink anymore. But in my drinking days, we would stop sometimes through Shannon to get gas and I'd go in, you'd enough time to get off the plane, you had about a half hour or so, ten minutes to pour the Guinness. I remember, the bartender, the hurricane. The movie? A couple for you. That was nice.
