Confession: the more time I spend offline, the happier I am. I know that sounds like an obvious correlation to most people, but as someone who has spent years building a following on here I was proud of, I’ve never once considered logging off for an extended period of time. Lately I’ve been spending a lot more energy on creating content for my new author page and instead of obsessing over the metrics, I’ve just been scheduling my posts and walking away. I’ll pop in on those accounts when I need to in order to answer DM’s or reply to comments. But my time spent on social media has capped out at an hour a day. For context, when growing this account I often spent 3-4 hours a day on social media. I don’t think I’ll ever say goodbye to social media or this account specifically. But I do plan on spending the next few weeks coming up with systems that allow me to actually enjoy creating content again. I’ll make posts on topics I’m passionate about (not necessarily the ones that get me the most clicks and likes). I’ll schedule posts in advance so I can limit my time on this app to just interacting with you all instead of constantly analyzing like counts and followers. Long post just to say I’m not going anywhere. But I am reshuffling my priorities to enjoy this app again while still being a helpful resource and friend to all of you. (Well, not to the people who troll my comments for hours at a time. If that’s you, maybe you should consider a social media detox too) #conservativesoftiktok #republican #trumpsupporters #americafirst🇺🇸 #republicansoftiktok
