DM “BOSS” if you want help understanding what can actually be disputed on your credit report 👇🏽 Man exposes a credit repair claim going viral about removing collections older than 2 years 👀 Here’s the part people need to understand: there is no FCRA rule that automatically deletes collections simply because they are more than 2 years old. However, the Fair Credit Reporting Act does give consumers the right to dispute information they believe is inaccurate, incomplete, duplicated, outdated, or unverifiable. That can include certain collections, repossessions, late payments, closed accounts, bankruptcies, and other negative information depending on the facts. If an investigation finds information is inaccurate or cannot be verified, it may need to be corrected or removed. Accurate negative information can generally remain for the legally permitted reporting period, so don’t rely on viral “automatic deletion” claims. Disclaimer: Educational purposes only.
