Who remembers when Ubisoft killed The Crew? Millions bought it, and Ubisoft switched off the servers, made even the single-player unplayable, and stripped the licenses from people's accounts with no refund. In court, Ubisoft argued you never owned the game at all; to them, it was just a license they could revoke whenever they wanted. The activation code on the physical copy was dated 2099, but the game was dead in ten years.
