Aug 26: Lindsay Clancy Trail

The judge was basically wrapping things up… and Red went: WAIT. We’re not done yet. He reminded the court that he had previously filed a motion for a required finding of not guilty — and that he needed to renew it now that the evidence is coming to an end. Translation: Reddington is asking Judge Sullivan AGAIN: Has the Commonwealth actually presented enough evidence, as a matter of law, for this case to result in a guilty verdict? He made this motion earlier in the trial after the prosecution rested. The judge denied it then. But now we’ve heard the defense case. We’ve heard the Commonwealth’s rebuttal experts. We’ve watched Red rip through their qualifications, their methodology, the three-year delay in interviewing Lindsay, their reliance on Patrick, the 911 call, the untested evidence… And now Red is renewing the challenge. This does NOT mean Lindsay was just found not guilty. It means before everybody walks out of that courtroom and this thing heads toward closing arguments and the jury… Big Red wants the judge to look at the Commonwealth’s evidence one more time and ask whether it is legally enough.
