Reddington’s closing argument did NOT start with evidence. It started with the jury. He thanked them. He acknowledged that they gave up nearly a month of their lives. He acknowledged that they have been forced to hear some of the most gut-wrenching testimony imaginable. And then he reminded them exactly what their role is. They are not spectators. They are not there to react emotionally. They took an oath. They have to be fair. Objective. And they have to stand between the power of the government and Lindsay Clancy. Then Red says something that really landed for me: She has placed herself “on her country”… and YOU are the country. That is such a powerful way to frame what a jury actually is. Twelve ordinary people entrusted with an extraordinary amount of power. And before Red asks them to question this investigation, these experts, or the Commonwealth’s case… he reminds them: This decision belongs to you. That was one hell of a way to begin. #LindsayClancy #LindsayClancyTrial #KevinReddington #ClosingArguments #CourtTok
