do I share my
dolomites
outfits or is
that
performative
hiking
what if I actually like hiking
what if I also actually like clothes,
and feeling good in what I'm
wearing
what if I planned the outfit
what if it was still functional
what if I took photos of it
are we all going to be okay
are we actually concerned about overconsumption, or
have we found another way to make girls feel shallow for
caring about how they look and what they wear?
maybe the most performative part of "performative hiking" is
needing everyone to know you're doing it more correctly
than someone else (lol, the irony)
but idk hahaha I've spent my whole life in the mountains,
and I still love seeing other people fall in love with them
too. wear what you own, borrow what you can, buy
thoughtfully, plan the outfit and be excited about it. take
the photos, share them if you want to (or don't), literally
none of that makes the experience any less genuine, it just
means you enjoyed it your way, which is fkn incredible
because none of the physical part of hiking is easy
And some wise words from my mum -
life is just life, every day
