⤵️ If you’re in Istanbul on August 30, save this! 🇹🇷 August 30 is 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆 (𝗭𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗿𝗮𝗺ı), one of Türkiye’s national holidays, so the city will feel much more festive than usual. Expect Turkish flags everywhere, decorated streets and lots of people outside. 👥 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗱𝘀 It also falls on a Sunday this year, which is already one of the busiest days in Istanbul. On top of that some public transport is usually free for locals using personalized Istanbulkarts on national holidays, so metro, buses, trams and ferries can get VERY busy. 🚧 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 Vatan Caddesi in Fatih will be closed from 6:00 AM for the official ceremony, and other central areas may also have temporary restrictions or route changes during the day. ⚠️ 𝗠𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝗽 I wouldn’t try to squeeze 2–3 neighborhoods into one day. If you want something calmer, pick a park or somewhere you can reach easily by metro or ferry. If you stay around Sultanahmet, Taksim, Istiklal or Beşiktaş, just expect bigger crowds and leave yourself more time between places. And honestly it can be a really nice day to be in Istanbul because you get to see the city in a completely different, festive mood 🇹🇷 ________________ 📍 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝘆 𝗜𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗯𝘂𝗹 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗜 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱.
