Last year, I landed the biggest gig of my career. $16,000. At the time, I genuinely thought, “This is it. I’ve made it.” But exactly one month ago today, I smashed that record and landed another project worth over 5X that amount. And honestly, the number itself isn’t even the part that gets me. I keep thinking about the person who is standing here today. I’m the same guy who was charging ₦10,000 for logo design work in 2021. The same guy who was squatting with a friend in a house made of roofing sheets in a remote town in Rivers State. The same guy who was neck deep in debt because I invested money in the wrong place. I got involved in a Ponzi scheme without even knowing that was what it was. The same guy who had seasons where the future looked uncertain and the numbers simply did not add up and believed suicide was my getaway but got saved. Yet somehow, step by step, project by project, mistake by mistake, lesson by lesson, I kept going. Looking back today, I realise that the journey was never just about making more money. It was about becoming the kind of person who could handle what I once prayed for. From ₦10k projects to a $16k project. From squatting in a house made with roofing sheets to building a career I once could only imagine. From being buried in debt to landing a project worth 5X the biggest deal I had ever done. If you had shown this version of my life to the guy I was in 2021, he probably would not have believed it. Today, all I can say is: Thank You, Lord. For the opportunities. For the lessons. For the failures that taught me. For the people who believed in me. For the strength to keep going when things were not working. And most importantly, for reminding me that where I am today is not where I started. There is still so much ahead. But for a moment, I just want to pause and appreciate how far I’ve come. Thank You, Lord ❤️
