Let’s unbox the Hirono After Dark series! POP MART sent me the new Hirono After Dark series early, making me one of the first people in the entire world to get their hands on this amazing new plush pendant series. The box is literally themed after a retro VHS box set. The lore of the After Dark series sees Hirono as various iconic Halloween monsters setting up shop at an old abandoned VHS store. After all, even if you're a monster, you still have to have some fun. There are six regular plush pendants and one secret. I'm personally really looking forward to the bunny and the bat. Now without a further ado, let’s get unboxing. We're back to the paper dust bags and this time it's a VHS tape. POP MART never messes around with their theming. Right off the bat, we got our target. This is Runaway Hirono, which is a patchwork bunny. This gives me Killer Bunny plus abandoned toy vibes. The details of this Hirono are kind of insane, from embroidery to patches to different cut fabrics. This Hirono is a perfect mix of what they did for the Road Journal series and Little Hare series. Also a further look at the card it comes with. It's a little rental card. Our second Hirono is Masked. This is a masked teddy bear with amazing detail, even on the little sack covering his head. The mask is creepy, but also kind of cute. It's very Hirono. Underneath is this cute, raggedy teddy bear look. It was probably a little ashamed of what it looked like and decided to cover its head so nobody would be able to see him. This one's super simple, but I think it gets the message across really clearly. Alright, this is our last box. Fingers crossed it's the secret. This last one is Off Script. This minty little fella is a werewolf that I think might have been hitting the Nerds gummy clusters a little bit too much. It's got a little bit of a crazy werewolf face and a beautiful mane of hair and tail in the back. On the front, you even have teeth right here. This one is so unique, I really, really love it. It almost looks glow in the dark. I'm kind of curious to see what this would look like if you inverted the colors. Okay, when I tell you, I think this is one of POP MART's most innovative series yet. I'm not kidding. This makes me actively excited for Halloween, and Halloween isn't something that I've celebrated since probably I was like 10 years old. Look forward to this set dropping on September 3rd. I highly recommend if you love Hirono, if you love Halloween, you're going to want to get some of these.
