Original caption

Resident Evil 2 director Hideki Kamiya says Resident Evil Requiem was simply TOO SCARY for him to finish even though he wanted to see Leon return to Raccoon City. Kamiya believes modern graphics allow developers to create increasingly horrifying experiences and says Capcom’s Resident Evil team may have become “completely numb” to just how frightening its games are. He now wants an optional non-horror or reduced-horror mode for players like him, joking that it could cover zombies’ faces with paper bags, remove the blood and introduce more pleasant lighting. He isn’t asking Capcom to make the main experience less scary but would you use an option that turns down the horror?
